Just 10 mins drive from us (or a pleasant 30 min cycle ride), a little bit of paradise next to the estuary at Port Vitrezay. Views across the Estuary to the Medoc, a small marina with boats bobbing - and a new & spectacular "Pole Nature" (nature reserve) with all sorts of wildlife - particularly birds.

There is a restaurant there - but you will need to phone to check they are open, as they seem to open when they feel like it !

5 mins further down the estuary at Port des Callonges is the brand new "Terres d'Oiseaux" bird sanctuary with 125 species over 115 hectares ! Observation trails from 30mins - 3hr 30mins, a cafe, bar and restaurant with more spectacular views across the estuary.
